2014년, 광장을 메웠던 노란 리본과 촛불의 물결을 기억합니다. 세월호가 침몰하고 수많은 생명이 별이 되었음에도 불구하고, 국민들의 간절한 외침에 귀를 닫았던 권력의 모습을 보았습니다. 나는 그 답답함과 슬픔을 담아, 소리치는 국민들과 그 소리를 외면하는 차가운 침묵을 이 작품에 기록했습니다.

I remember the 2014 waves of yellow ribbons and candlelight vigils that filled the plaza. Despite the sinking of the Sewol ferry and the loss of so many precious lives, I witnessed a power that remained deaf to the desperate cries of its people. With a heart full of grief and frustration, I recorded in this work the voices of the shouting public and the cold silence that ignored them.
